Remarks
“Home is where one starts from.” –T.S. Eliot

Home is where you start your day. It's also where we return to after a day full of excitement and disappointment, challenges and triumphs, work and everyday life. Our home is our comfort and our shelter and the place where our memories are made.

This home is special. It's harbored many memories and special times since it was built in1940. It's been lovingly cared for and now it's waiting to continue its story with you.

2000 NC 213 Hwy sits up on a hill, surrounded by nature and bordered by a rambling creek. The interior enjoys an abundance of natural light throughout the day. The home sits on 3.74 acres (according to a 2003 survey) with additional building sites or room for your horses.

It has many of its original features like oak floors, arched doorways, solid panel doors, original door hardware (on most doors), picture rail molding and stained trim (not painted!). Lovers of vintage homes will not be disappointed.

The rooms are large with plenty of storage. The living has a wood-burning stove in the hearth and french doors leading to a screened-in porch. The kitchen leads to a breakfast room and a formal dining room. The 2 upstairs bedrooms have walk-in closets. The third bedroom is conveniently located on the first floor.

Updates include replacement windows, new furnace in 2005, a new septic field in 2017 and fiber optic internet.

This home is waiting just for you. Isn't it time to start your memories here in the country?

About Susan

My husband and I have made our home in the peaceful mountains of Western North
Carolina since 1992 where we worked together in the running of our home remodeling
business. Together we have built 4 homes and renovated another as well as renovated
countless homes for clients. I have always taken an active part in the design and
building of these homes. From hanging ridge rafters to laying hardwood floors, I have
gained a great deal of respect and understanding of what goes into a well-built home.
This love of homes and home construction is what led me to become a Real Estate
Broker in 2003 and later a General Contractor. I am also active in canine sports,
competing with my golden retrievers and organizing obedience trials as well as serving
on the board (past treasurer) of the Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club.  In addition, I
am a stained glass artist and I take much pride and satisfaction in designing and
creating glass art that I often donated to benefit rescues and canine health research.

Since starting my Real Estate Career long ago, I have won many sales awards and
more importantly to me, several Quality Service Awards. For several years I was Broker
in Charge of a small office, managing 9 other agents. Feeling the need to get back to
what I love about real estate, I stepped down as the managing broker in 2017 so I could
concentrate on
my clients and their needs as a Broker Associate. I am now working
with Sterling Real Estate Partners because of their creativity, marketing technology,
customer service and their stellar reputation in the Asheville and surrounding markets.

I specialize in Residential Homes, Small Farms and Land Tracks with a special passion
for Vintage Homes. When marketing a Vintage home, or helping a buyer with a
purchase of one, you can expect a full essay on the "genealogy" of your home. One of
my many obsessions is tracking the history of Asheville's older homes. My years
working as a carpenters assistant as well as my beginnings in the marketing field will be
used to your benefit when you are selling or buying a home. Of course for dog owners,
my 20+ years of training and competing with my own dogs has given me an
understanding that often a fenced yard for Puppy is not enough. Sometimes we need a
bit more. For both sellers and buyers I recognize the unique needs that many of us
have for ourselves and with our homes.
